After almost 3 decades of dedicated service to the community of Briton Ferry, our esteemed and much-admired Senior Partner and colleague, Dr Heather Wilkes, will be retiring from the practice at the end of September 2024.
During her time as a GP, Dr Wilkes has worked tirelessly to improve the health of the Briton Ferry community and her clinical expertise and pioneering work setting up the local Rapid Diagnostic Centre has benefitted the countless patients she has cared for over the years.
It is not just patients who have benefitted from her experience and knowledge either - her role as GP trainer has seen numerous trainee GPs successfully qualify under her supervision and themselves go on to successful careers in General Practice.
A cool hand at the controls, Dr Wilkes will be greatly missed by all of us, and we feel sure you will want to join us in wishing Dr Wilkes all the very best in her retirement and future endeavours.
Patients can be reassured that their care will not be affected as we will have a full complement of GPs in place overlapping Dr Wilkes’ retirement date.
We are now looking to rename the practice as we will no longer be Dr Wilkes and Partners and would like you to have a say in what the surgery will be called (sensible suggestions only please!). If you have any ideas or suggestions, please let us know - you can submit a feedback form on this website or there will be a suggestion box in reception.
